THE WORLD OF DRAGONFLIES
The “Dragonflies” Project is Carolina's first real artistic project. In this series of paintings, with their vivid watercolor hues and golden flashes of gold leaf, Carolina invites us to follow the dragonfly on its long, fairytale journey.
On this journey of self-discovery, the dragonfly learns to appreciate the beauty around her, as well as the little things in life. Could this appreciation be the key to happiness?

THE FOUR SEASONS PROJECT
​
This Project is a mesmerizing quartet of watercolour, gold leaf & white pen paintings (40x50cm), each capturing a season in the life of a dragonfly.
In spring, we witness the delicate emergence of the dragonfly amidst a world of fresh blooms and vibrant pinks, expressing Nature´s beauty.
Summer showcases her in full splendour, dancing through warm, sunlit fields and fragrant flowers with her beloved. Love is what matters the most!
Autumn portrays her graceful maturity against a backdrop of rich, golden foliage, embodying the season's warmth and abundance. She realises that life is short, and she needs to make the most of it now. “Carpe Diem!”
Finally, winter presents a serene, frosty scene, reflecting the dragonfly's end of life in a tranquil, icy landscape.
Each painting intricately weaves the dragonfly's lifecycle with the essence of the respective season.

Carmen:

This painting was created to go with Francois Borne´s music piece of the same name. It depicts the passionate love story between Carmen and Don José that ultimately turns into a drama.

Bavaria:
Female personification of the Bavarian homeland, and by extension its strength and glory. She is not alone, around her fly a multitude of ephemeral insects.
This painting was created to match the composition from Carolina´s musician colleague, Raphaelle Zaneboni. This painting shows how it is possible and is an enriching experience to live side by side even if we are different.

I SEE LIFE IN COLOUR
The dominant attributes in Carolina´s paintings are colours and shapes. She uses these powerful tools to uplift and bring joy & hope to the observer.

TOLERANCE WEEK ART EVENT (2023) WITH RESPEKT@POING
These three paintings were created for an art event organised by Respekt@Poing during the Tolerance Week in November (2023). The theme was „Life, Sense, Search“ („Leben, Sinn, Suche“). To tackle this theme, I used symbols of respect, gratitude and eternal love in my paintings.
