"HAIKU & PAINTING" Art Exhibition Opening 14.10.2024 at 19:00

Kultur Etage Messestadt (Riem Arkaden) Erika-Cremer Straße 8

81829 Munich

This wonderful cooperation between artist, Carolina Phillips and flutist Raphaëlle Zaneboni resulted in an exhibition called "Haiku & Painting", where Carolina´s paintings have been combined with Raphaëlle´s haikus (Japanese poetry) & a bilingual French & German book "Haiku & Peinture" ("Haiku & Malerei") ISBN 9783758329647.

The book is available online anywhere and the exhibition is a summary of Carolina´s work over the last 4 years. She has brought together elements from Japan and golden dragonflies, with colorful intuitive paintings and mosaic creations. The book and the exhibition are an invitation into a world where visual art is intertwined with poetry.

Carolina and Raphaëlle hope you find inspiration and joy in this project.

How did this idea of combining haiku and painting come about? It was actually purely by chance: last summer, while I was painting, I received a haiku from Raphaëlle. I immediately noticed that the colors of my paintings matched Raphaëlle's haiku exactly. Suddenly I thought: what happens when you combine Japanese poetry with visual art? A dialogue between words and colors? A potential enrichment for both arts? I agree with Michael Angier when he says: 1 plus 1 equals 3. When you bring different arts together, it creates a wonderful synergy.

The newspaper the SZ has written a lovely article about this project:

"Kunstband und Ausstellung: Farbe trifft Wort" - Ebersberg
